National Indigenous History Month
November is National Indigenous History Month, and as such there is a read-a-thon hosted by Et Tu Brody? (Twitter | Youtube) and Thor.Wants.Another.Letter (Twitter | Youtube) called IndigAThon! A whole month of reading literature by Indigenous authors!
I’m clearly excited about it, what about you?

For the month of November, I’m going to try and read three books back-to-back, that cover as many squares as possible each. I can’t read super fast any more, so this will be a challenge for me!
IndigAThon TBR List
Love After The End edited by Joshua Whitehead
This book is an anthology about Two-Spirit scifi and romance. I’ve dug into the first story already, and I have to say that it’s a great read so far!
From left-to-right, top-to-bottom, the squares this covers will be:
Intersectionality, Other Than 5CT, Buddy Read, and Other Than US.
Heartbeat Braves by Pamela Sanderson
This is a romance and part one of a series. I’m hoping that this book will hook me in for more!
From left-to-right, top-to-bottom, the squares this covers will be:
New To You and Group Book.
Race to the Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse
This book is also the start to a series! It’s meant for a younger demographic than what I normally read, so we’ll see how well I do.
From left-to-right, top-to-bottom, the squares this covers will be:
Middle Grade and Free Space.
Bonus Book! Anoka by Shane Hawk
As a bonus book, if I finish the three before it, I’m hoping to get to read Anoka by Shane Hawk! It’s a collection of Indigenous horror, and I’m so stoked for this to be on my list.
If I don’t get to it in November, I’m certainly going to try for December!
Activism Work
This is what will cover my Non-Bookish Media square to finish off the list. For those that know me in my personal life, you know that I’ve been doing volunteering for a Land Back Camp.
I’m continuing my work there this month, with a very critical lens pointed toward my whiteness.
I’ve made mistakes in the past. I will continue to make mistakes. All I can do is keep trying to make myself a better person.
